Overview

We are looking for a General Manager to oversee and lead the pre-opening stage of our client’s upcoming 5-star resort project, located on the South-Central Coast in Phu Yen Province, Vietnam.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in resort management, preferably with pre-opening experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role.

Salary and Benefits

Base Salary: $3,500 – $5,500, pending experience

Health insurance: International

Meal allowance: $400 per month

Accommodation: Provided, or allowance

Phone expenses: covered

Return flight home: Covered, once per year

Main Responsibilities

  • Leading the pre-opening team: Assemble and lead a dedicated team of professionals to oversee various aspects of the resort’s pre-opening.
  • Developing and executing the pre-opening plan: Work closely with the project management team to develop a comprehensive pre-opening plan.
  • Recruiting and training: Be responsible for hiring and training skilled and knowledgeable staff.
  • Establishing operating procedures and standards: Develop and implement standard operating procedures and service standards across all departments.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and contractors: You will work closely with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Implementing financial controls: You will work with the finance team to establish financial controls, budgets, and forecasting systems.
  • Creating marketing and promotional strategies: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and standards: You will ensure the resort’s compliance with all relevant local regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Setting the foundation for post-opening success: Your role extends beyond the pre-opening phase, as you will be responsible for establishing a strong operational foundation that sets the stage for continued success post-opening.

Basic Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in resort management, preferably with pre-opening experience.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, team members, and guests.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to handle complex projects and overcome challenges.
  • Sound knowledge of hospitality operations, including front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, and guest services.
  • Familiarity with financial management, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Understanding of marketing strategies and the ability to develop innovative promotional campaigns.
